Most “best cars to flip” lists are opinion. This one is generated from the current scored window of Dealerly’s pipeline: real listings, real retail comparables, modelled margins.

What the data keeps showing

Three patterns hold across runs, and they match what experienced flippers will tell you:

• Boring, high-liquidity stock clears fastest. Mainstream superminis and small SUVs in the £2,000–£10,000 bracket have the widest buyer pool and the most reliable comparables — which is exactly why they price accurately and sell inside two weeks.
• Margin lives in mispricing, not in the badge. A scruffy listing with poor photos on a low-traffic platform routinely prices thousands under the same car presented well — that gap is the flip.
• The kill-list matters more than the buy-list. Mileage rollbacks, Cat S/N write-offs buried in the seller’s description and DVLA mismatches destroy more profit than any good buy creates. Dealerly hard-caps the listings where those signals surface — a fraud flag can never be outvoted by an attractive margin.

How this table is built

1. Every 5 hours the pipeline scans 7 UK marketplaces (56,811 listings in the current 36-hour window).
2. Listings are enriched with MOT history (DVSA), DVLA vehicle records and mileage-consistency checks wherever a registration plate is readable from the listing.
3. Each car is compared against real dealer-retail comparables for its cohort — similar cars for sale at dealers, matched like-for-like. Only comp-backed BUY/OFFER listings count towards this table.
